Dr. Karin Kausky M.D.

Dr. Karin Kausky graduated from the University of Toronto in 1988. She completed her Family Practice residency at the University of Western Ontario in 1990 obtaining certification from the Canadian College of Family Physicians. She also completed her diploma in Sports Medicine in 2007 and travels as a physician with the Canadian National Alpine Ski Team and is Medical Director of the Canadian National Ski Cross Team. Dr. Kausky was also the Chief Medical Officer for Women’s Alpine Events at the Vancouver 2010 Olympics.

Dr. Sarah Turcotte

Dr. Sarah Truscott M.D.

Dr. Truscott obtained her bachelor of science degree in Kinesiology from the University of Victoria and then went on to obtain her medical degree from the University of British Columbia. She then completed residency in Family Practice with an interest in emergency medicine in Victoria. She currently does Family Practice in Whistler and Emergency Medicine in Squamish.

Dr. Thomas DeMarco M.D.
C.C.F.P.

Dr. Tom DeMarco graduated from the University of Toronto in 1983, with a rotating internship at McGill University. From 1984-1996 he was a substitute doctor in family practice and emergency medicine in over 50 communities Canada wide. He has been a full partner at the Whistler Medical Clinic since 1996. His medical interests include dermatology. He is also multilingual, speaking English, French, Spanish and German.

Dr. Danielle Patterson M.D.

Dr Patterson graduated from the University of Western Australia Medical School in 1999 and completed her General Practice Residency in the Northern Rivers region of NSW in 2004. She returned to Western Australia to work in the rural roving locum service, providing short term remote GP and ER coverage to communities int he bush, then after a 6 month stint in the Republic of Ireland she arrived in BC, quickly falling in love with the mountain lifestyle. In 2007 she moved to Whistler permanently and began working at the Pemberton Health Care Centre as a Family physician, covering the busy Emergency department. After 7 years in Pemberton and now as the mother of 3 small children, she decided to move into full time family practice in Whistler, and has now happily joined the team at Whistler Medical Clinic providing full service family practice

Dr. Brennan McKnight M.D.
C.C.F.P.

Dr. McKnight was born and raised in Victoria, BC. She studied Kinesiology at the University of Victoria before completing her medical degree at the University of BC. After completing her Family Medicine residency in 2011, she spent 2 years practicing rural and remote medicine in dozens of communities in BC as well as northern Saskatchewan. She then worked for 4 years as a full service family physician in Sooke BC. In 2019 she relocated to Whistler with her GP husband and 2 small children, and is delighted to be joining the Whistler Medical Clinic.

Dr. Olivia Bayley M.D.
C.C.F.P.

Dr Bayley moved to Whistler in 2018 with her Canadian husband and three young children. She joined Whistler Medical Clinic in 2019 working part-time, job-sharing with Dr Truscott. Dr Bayley was raised in the UK (Harpenden, Hertfordshire) but spent many happy holidays in Canada throughout her life. She graduated Medical School in 2004 with a Medical degree from the University of Leicester and a BSc (International health) from University College London. After graduating she worked as a junior doctor in London and completed her GP training in Sussex in 2009. In addition to general practice, Dr Bayley has worked in Malawi, Africa, in an academic role with the UCL Institute of Global Health. She has been part of research into community interventions that help to improve maternal and infant survival. She also helped to design and pilot a community-focused participatory process which is now widely used as a maternal death review tool in East Africa. She is passionate about primary care and feels privileged to be a GP.

Jo Gorton
Nurse Practioner

Jo was born and raised in the Peace Region of Northern BC. She has a B.A. and BSN from the University of British Columbia and worked as an acute and primary care nurse in Vancouver for many years prior to completing her NP training through Athabasca University in the rural training program. In addition to primary care, Jo has a strong interest in women's health including over ten years of work experience as a sexual assault nurse examiner. She currently serves as Chair of the Howe Sound Women's Centre Board of Directors. She has two small children and you can often find her running after them in the beautiful trails of the Sea to Sky. She is excited to be joining the Whistler Medical clinic as a primary care provider.
